About Us
About Us
RKG Exploration was formed by two individuals Ralph Keefe and Ken Galambos in late 2007. The individuals had known each other for roughly 15 years at that point and shared a passion for prospecting and mineral exploration. That passion lives on.
Ralph began prospecting in the mid-1960s during his days off while working as a registered A.SC.T. in the BC Ministry of Forests. He has completed both the Basic and Advanced Prospecting courses and attended innumerable short-courses and talks on geology over the years. Ralph is a life-member of AMEBC and remains an active prospector with numerous discoveries to his credit. He splits his time tromping the bush in central BC during the summer months and spends his winters in Victoria researching new targets. Ralph turned 91 this year.
Ken probably developed his love for rocks while growing up in Flin Flon, Manitoba. Ken has worked underground at many of HBM&S' mines in northern Manitoba and in the surface plants in Flin Flon. He began his exploration career with HBED in Manitoba and Yukon and has been in "the business" since 1974. Ken joined the Noranda Exploration team in Whitehorse and went on to lead the office as A/District Manager from 1989-1991 and was intimately involved in the advanced exploration of the Brewery Creek deposit which, a few years later, became the first heap leach gold mine "north of 60". After 10 years with the Yukon Geological Survey, Ken began consulting in mid-2008 and moved with his family to Victoria, BC. Ken has been a Professional Engineer in Yukon since 1988 (# 0916) and is also a registered Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (# 35364).
